The short version: some links here earn us a commission, you pay the same either way, nobody pays to be featured, and several of the best things to do on a Falklands day pay us nothing at all.

Which links are affiliate links

Every "Check availability" button, and every in-text link that opens a tour listing, points to Viator or GetYourGuide and carries our partner tag. Seven of the nine tours are sold on Viator, two on GetYourGuide. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a share of the commission it already earns from the operator. Your price is identical to the price you would see going straight to that listing, because our cut comes out of the platform's margin and is never added to your ticket.

Those two platforms are the only affiliate relationships on this site. There are no hotel or lodge links, no display advertising, no sponsored posts and no paid reviews. The videos embedded on the homepage earn us nothing, and neither does the map of Stanley harbour and the jetty beside them. If a third network is ever added, this page and the footer disclosure will name it before the first link goes live, not after.

The parts of a Falklands day that pay us nothing

Worth saying plainly, because some of them are the best hours you will spend. You can walk to Gypsy Cove from Stanley on your own legs and watch Magellanic penguins from the path without buying anything. The Historic Dockyard Museum, the cathedral and its whalebone arch, the 1982 Liberation Monument, the wrecks lying in the harbour and the pubs in town all sit outside anything we could earn on. So does a taxi hired in town, a self-drive 4x4, and the excursion desk on your own ship, which sells some of these same routes at its own prices with the ship's guarantee of getting you back aboard attached.

All of those get their say in the guides anyway, and where one of them beats a paid ticket the guide says so. The one part of your trip we can earn on is the tour itself, and those run from $40 to $569 across these nine listings. We could quietly push the expensive end. Instead the cost table leads with the $40 one-hour gentoo run, and the private days at $413 and $569 are labelled per vehicle everywhere they appear, which is the fact that makes them comparable at all and which usually points a group of four toward the cheaper conclusion.

What it does not change

• Inclusion. Every tour that clears the tests is here: a real, currently bookable Falklands experience with published dates, figures that survived two independent verification passes, and an unambiguous price basis. Nine listings cleared all of it, run by eight operators. One operator, Premium Penguin Tours, appears twice, with a penguin day and a battlefield day rather than the same day sold under two names.
• Ordering. No operator can buy a position and none has been offered one. Where a section leads with one tour, that tour is the most-reviewed in its section, a rule you can check yourself against the numbers on the cards.
• What we say about them. Two listings here carry two reviews and one review respectively, and the cards say so rather than burying it. The battlefield tour has no review history at all yet, and its card says that too. The Volunteer Point day is described with its two hours each way, its off-road final stretch and the listing's own warning about back problems and pregnancy, which is not the flattering way to sell the most expensive per-person ticket in the lineup.
• What we leave out. A tenth listing was dropped during checking: an elephant-seal trip whose from-price the second verification pass could not confirm, and an unconfirmed price fails our first test. It would have paid commission exactly like the nine we kept. A second candidate went for a different reason, being the same operator's near-duplicate of a day already covered. Tours sold only through a cruise line's own excursion desk, and self-guided walks that need no booking at all, sit outside what this site compares, whatever they might be worth to us.
• Things we earn nothing from. Gypsy Cove on foot, the museum, the harbour wrecks, the ship's own excursion desk, a Stanley taxi, a hire car, and the Falkland Islands Tourist Board office on the jetty that will happily answer your questions for free. They still get their say wherever they beat a paid ticket.

Ratings, review counts and prices

Every rating and review count on this site is the platform's own published number at the time we checked it, read off the live listing and then confirmed a second time on an independent pass before it was printed. Nothing is averaged across platforms, rounded up or invented, and where the two checks disagreed the figure was left off the page rather than smoothed over. The nine run 4.8 across 222 reviews, 4.7 across 143, 4.9 across 80, 4.8 across 42, 4.8 across 26, 5.0 across 9, 5.0 across 2, 5.0 across a single review, and one listing new enough to carry no rating at all.

Prices work the same way and come with a bigger caveat. What you see is a current from-price, the cheapest option on that listing when it was read, running $40 to $569 across the lineup. What you actually pay moves with the date, the group size, the option you pick and the country you book from, so the live listing is always the authority. Two of the nine are priced per vehicle rather than per person and say so on every card, because a private day quoted as if it were a per-person fare is the single most misleading number in this category. A price that reads differently in two places usually means the platform is showing you a localised currency, not that the operator has put its fee up.

Search the operator's name on Viator or GetYourGuide directly, or find the operator's own website and book there. Top Private Tours, TravelFalklands, JT Tours, Simon's Tours, Premium Penguin Tours, Falklands Outdoors, Blake's Tours and Lupin Tours all sell these days themselves. The Falkland Islands Tourist Board office sits at the jetty and will point you at what is running that day, at no cost and with nothing to sell you. We would genuinely rather you got out to the penguins. The comparisons, the cost table, the FAQ and the guides work exactly as well as research whether or not you ever click a booking link.
